Since the "the Belt and Road" was proposed, China's communications industry has actively participated in the infrastructure construction of countries and regions along the "the Belt and Road". As the backbone of the communication industry - the optical communication field, the construction along the "the Belt and Road" has not lagged behind, but has taken the lead in the army.
It is reported that up to now, well-known domestic optical communication enterprises have sold their products to more than 100 countries and regions in the world, of which more than half of the overseas markets are located in countries and regions along the "the Belt and Road". Not only that, several optical communication companies are also investing in or acquiring more than ten production bases in Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Africa and other regions.
Hengtong Group
At this summit, Cui Genliang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hengtong Group, was invited to attend the forum and participated in a parallel theme meeting on "Accelerating Facility Connectivity". Cui Genliang said that promoting the construction of the "the Belt and Road" is a major strategic decision made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, conforms to the requirements of the development of the times, conforms to the development aspirations of all countries, and is of great significance to creating a new pattern of China's all-round opening up and promoting regional and world peace and development. Actively implementing the "the Belt and Road" strategy is an inevitable choice for private enterprises to seize opportunities, promote strategic deployment, and enhance their comprehensive strength and core competitiveness. It is also an unshirkable responsibility and mission of private enterprises.
It has been 16 years since Hengtong's internationalization. Benefiting from the "the Belt and Road" policy dividend, Hengtong has built communication and power infrastructure in countries along the line, exported optical cables, submarine cables and power cables to Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and European countries and regions, participated in the bidding of large projects in Europe, and competed with international peers. The annual export volume of products doubled. In 2016, Hengtong's overseas revenue reached 1.93 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 111.29%.
The international influence of the brand of Hengtong has rapidly increased. We have established marketing and technical service branches in 34 countries worldwide, with 119 registered trademarks in different countries. Our business covers more than 130 countries and regions, including fiber optic communication, smart grids, and ocean engineering. We have created multiple world records in numerous major overseas projects. Hengtong's optical fiber products have accounted for 15% of the global market, which has won China a voice in the world's optical fiber Internet field.
Changfei
Changfei can be said to be the "Oriental Pearl TV Tower" of domestic optical communication enterprises. In 2016, as the largest optical fiber and cable enterprise in China, Changfei comprehensively achieved the first place in the world. Over the past 30 years, Changfei has continuously introduced, digested, absorbed, and innovated its technology, resulting in a remarkable achievement of 8.1 billion yuan in 2016. This is closely related to its policy of deepening its internationalization strategy and expanding its overseas markets.
As the pioneer of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, Indonesia has its unique geographical advantages. However, its infrastructure development has been lagging behind for a long time, the development of the telecommunications industry is relatively slow, and the penetration rate of Internet users and broadband is low. Changfei saw an opportunity. On January 19, 2015, Changfei Fiber Optics signed a cooperation agreement with PT Monas Permata Persada Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "PT Monas") in Wuhan to jointly establish a fiber optic manufacturing company. It is worth mentioning that this company is the first fiber optic enterprise in Indonesia.
Afterwards, Changfei Company collaborated with Adanabang Fiber Optic Cable Co., Ltd. in Myanmar to invest in the construction of a 1 million core kilometer fiber optic cable project with an annual output. In Johannesburg, South Africa, Changfei established Africa Holdings Limited. In September 2016, the Indonesian company started production, and by the end of October of the same year, the South African factory had produced the first optical cable. In the future, countries and regions along the "the Belt and Road" will also be the focus of Changfei's international development and extension.

Among them, the output of new technologies such as energy-saving wires and special power cables has optimized local line transmission, reduced the energy consumption of traditional power lines, and protected the ecological environment.
The online operation of ZTE's communication products in countries along the the Belt and Road is nearly 500000 kilometers, such as communication optical cable, radio frequency, broadband access, etc., which has brought more convenient life to hundreds of millions of residents in countries where the products are imported, and has made positive contributions to the elimination of the digital divide. Telecom operators from countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, and Myanmar have become loyal customers of Zhongtian Technology.
The proportion of sales in countries along the "the Belt and Road" has also increased year by year. In 2014, the sales of Zhongtian in countries along the "the Belt and Road" accounted for 53.35% of the total international sales, which increased to 60.84% in 2015 and 68.37% in 2016.
